The complex of Orthodox Church in Polana

Original Church was mentioned in 1533. The existing temple is dated most often to the year 1790, but the local tradition says that it was built in the sixteenth / seventeenth century as a chapel of the manor.

This information seems to be confirmed by the fact of founding in 1770 the new Church and by the construction of the older part of the temple, among others the type of locks in the corners - with indoor pin (flat with pin-tumbler) and the presence in the interior of the stone tombstone decorated with heraldic cartouche. Thus, the date 1790 appears to be a year of renovation or re-consecration of the temple. It was rebuilt many times. Since 1969 it serves as Roman Catholic Church.

In the short distance from the Church, on the south there is a freestanding wooden bell tower located. Around the Church there is the cemetery with several preserved tombstones. In the seventeenth century it was owned by the Romer family. From this period there is a tombstone originating, which in the 70's of the twentieth century was still present in the interior of the existing Church. In the eighteenth century the owners of the village were Cetner and Urbański families, and in the nineteenth century Rytarowski family.
