Church of St. Roch



Branch Church built on a hill, near Olesno, where a handful of citizens found refuge and survived the plague in 1708, which resulted in death of ¾ of inhabitants.

It is a votive Church, founded by the town of Olesno. Oriented, log construction, on a foundation. Outer walls of the Church over arcatures shingled. Partially surrounded with arcatures, without a tower. Pitched roof, covered with shingles with a slender wooden steeple tower topped with a dome and a spire, labelled with the date 1710 - the year of the completion of the Church. Main altar, Baroque, with eight statues and paintings of the patron protecting against the plague - St. Roch, and views of the town of Olesno in the background, contemporary Baroque altars with paintings of the 18th century. Way of the Cross of the 19th century. Historic liturgical objects from the 18th and 19th century (brass candlestick, pewter candlesticks).
