A memorial was erected at the cemetery which symbolises the breakthrough of the Pommernstellung fortifications lines.
As many as 4429 Russian soldiers fighting in the 2nd Belarussian Front and 39 Polish soldiers from the 1st Army of the Polish Forces are buried on the cemetery in mass graves. On the municipal cemetery, besides the military graves near the chapel, there is a grave of American pilots shot down over the village of Wilcze Lasy in September 1944 while returning after airdrop of supplies for the insurgents in Warsaw.
