The 15th Eastern Longtitude Merdian crosses the whole Lubuskie region. It is a base for the so called Central European Time CET. In Poland it is used and called as the winter time. CET is the most often used time in European Union. Originally it was used only in middle Europe i.g. Germany and Poland. In 1940 it was introduced in Holland and France by Nazi government (so called Berlin time) and after WW II it remained there till now. Spain has been using it only from 1946. The monument close to Jasień is the unique in Poland. Similar monuments have however been erected also close to Krosno Odrzańskie (village Brzózka and Osiecznica).
