Żeglarska Gate

The gate was built in the middle of the XIVth century on typical Torun building material - red brics.

It occurs at the exit of Żeglarska street leading to the Vistula wharf, to the port. It has lost its military meaning in the XVIIIth century. It's worth to know, that in the past the access to the town was defended by 9 similar gates, up till now only 3 among them were preserved.
