Parish Church of Transfiguration in Białogon

Looking at this treasure of wooden architecture it is hard to resist the thought that it was brought from Podhale. The form and the body are strikingly similar to the Tatra churches.

Near the Kielce Pump Factory, there is a small, wooden Church built in 1918 on the initiative of the tenant of Białogon factory - Leon Skibiński. The project was developed by the Plant architect, Mateusz Gałas. Looking at this treasure of wooden architecture it is hard to resist the thought that it was brought from Podhale. The form and the body are strikingly similar to the Tatra churches.
Shingle-covered block consists of a long nave with a little narrower, three-sided chancel. Vestibule under the tower leads to the nave, which is surrounded on three sides by arcatures (characteristic "porches", arcades at the Church). The composition is completed with two towers.
The interiors are maintained in raw, wooden style, which gives this relatively modern Church a special atmosphere. A historical element is the image of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in the western chapel.
The Church is on the Świetokrzyskie Wooden Architecture Trail.
