Evangelic-Augsburg Church

Przedmieście Kolskie was called Przedmieście Świętego Ducha [The Outskirts of the Holy Spirit] from the name of the patron of the hospital Church, which was founded here in 1422.

In 1801, a new wooden church was built in this place, which was bought in 1824 by the Lutheran community. The current church which is located to the south of the old temple was erected in 1853-1854. A tower was built to the Church in 1872. The Church owes its current neo-Romanesque style (sometimes confused with neo-gothic) to reconstruction works in 1906-1909. From Kolska Street, the Church is surrounded by a decorative, metal fence. Visitors may also admire the historical pastor’s house located right next to the Church.
