Bishop's Palace

Stone castle situated on the site of a fortified settlement from 10th-13th century, using the walls of the ducal castle of the 14th century and the bishop’s castle of the 18th century. Rebuilt in 1861 as a neoclassical mansion.

In 1925, it was rebuilt after a fire of 1920 as the seat of the Curia and the residence of the bishop. Archaeological excavations in 1989-1993 discovered inter alia, a historical peripheral wall on the western side and relics of the tower known from the drawing by A. Boot of 1632.
